The words to Shakespeare's songs have inspired composers for centuries, and this program will bring out the timeless beauty, bawdiness, melancholy, and exuberance both musically and theatrically, in a range of styles. In this choral-drama premiere, VAE and featured actor Malcolm Tulip will intertwine choral and solo settings of Shakespeare with scenes from the plays in a curated story of conflict, flight and return.
There will be two performances of this program on May 7: one at 3:30 PM and one at 5:30 PM. A pre-concert talk will be held 15 minutes prior to each performance (3:15 and 5:15)
