The Mountain deals with anti-immigrant feelings from the lens of two eight-year-olds, a quiet Canadian boy and a spirited Arab girl. The play is based in playful yet poignant realism between the two primary characters – highlighted with imaginary adventures that allows the banter between the children to deepen and transform not only their friendship, but their views of the world.
We are excited to welcome LOCAL EDUCATORS, COMMUNITY LEADERS and PARENTS for a free performance. It will be followed by a talk back with the actors and playwright.
We would love educators and leaders, parents and citizens to consider how this important play or others available from our Spinning Dot Repertory Company might be educational and inspiring to host in schools and community settings.
There will also be a short arts integration workshop for any interested educators to close this evening event.
