Please join us on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 7:30 PM as the Chelsea High School Orchestras led by Maestro Jed Fritzemeier welcome the Jackson Symphony Orchestra to the CHS stage. This Back to Back Concert showcases both high school orchestras followed by the JSO. Ballet Chelsea will grace the stage in a guest appearance with the JSO...a sure delight for music and dance lovers!

In the Back to Back Concert, Chelsea High School students have the opportunity to share the stage with a professional orchestra, giving the the students a performance experience that is both educational and inspiring.

Mr. Fritzemeier has taught Orchestra for over 33 years and was recognized in 2009 as Orchestra Teacher of the Year by the Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association. One of his proudest accomplishments is taking the Chelsea High School orchestra program of only 59 students that was about to be cut due to lack of participation, to a thriving orchestra of 350 students throughout Chelsea School District.

A passionate advocate for American and contemporary music, Dr. Matthew Aubin has conducted and performed internationally from Carnegie Hall to the Musikverein and many stops in between. Currently in his second season as Music Director of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Aubin also serves as Artistic Director for The Chelsea Symphony in New York City.
