Tim Haldeman

Primarily a tenor saxophonist, Tim Haldeman experiments with woodwinds, guitars, percussion, singing, and composition. He started playing saxophones more than twenty years ago, and has been performing, touring (U.S., Europe, Canada), and recording with some of Chicago’s premiere jazz groups since 1997, including Mike Reed's People, Places and Things, and Matt Ulery’s Loom. He holds a B.A. in Jazz Performance from The Chicago College of the

Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and has studied saxophone with Bob Shepard, Jim Gailloretto, Mark Hynes, and Ron Dewar and many others. Haldeman currently lives in his home town of Ann Arbor, where he leads his own trio and quartet, and performs with Dan Bennett's Legendary Wings, featuring Nick Collins, Matt Endahl, and Jordan Schug.

Tim Flood

Tim Flood is a bassist and composer based in Ann Arbor, who has performed with artists such as Uri Caine, Frank Lowe, Hank Roberts, Roswell Rudd and many others. He is also a longtime member of the trio Bishop/Cleaver/Flood. His original electronic compositions and mixed-media installations have been shown at venues such as yhe Detroit Institute of the Arts, Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening Space, and the Sync ‘05 Digital Art Festival. Tim received his Masters Degree in Media Arts from the University of Michigan.

Will McEvoy

Bassist Will McEvoy was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised in Woodbine, Maryland. His earliest musical memories include Paul Simon's “Hearts and Bones,” SRV’s “Couldn't Stand the Weather,” Nirvana, The Who, and BB King. He cites his first gig, a weekly engagement with One Eyed Johnny and the Revelators in a country bar, as a source for a number of life lessons. He attended Sarah Lawrence College, where he developed an interest in philosophy, theory, physics, and poetry, while also studying bass with Mark Helias. Other current projects include Will McEvoy's Mutasm, Zhirtz&Zkins, Cirriculum Quartet, and Premoticon. As a sideman, he performs with Tomchess, David Aaron's Flip City, and Patrick Breiner's Double Double. Together with David Hurley, he runs the biweekly Fire Music Mondays at Trixie’s Bar in Hamtramck.

Dave Hurley

Drummer and percussionist David Hurley is a recent transplant to the Detroit area from San Diego, CA, where he left a legacy of celebrated groups with recordings in multiple genres of music from free jazz to progressive rock and dub music. His 2008 solo debut Outer Nebula Inner Nebula gets to the heart of Hurley’s intense percussion-based approach to the drum set. His presence on the Detroit scene has fast become familiar through hosting the biweekly Fire Music Mondays series and breakout appearances with the Oluyemi Thomas Quartet, New Olduvai Ensemble featuring Cecil Taylor alumni Elliott Levin and Tom Rollison, and the James Cornish Small Opera at the Strange Beautiful Music Festival. He has performed in groups with Kenn Thomas, Marcus Elliott, Will McEvoy, Ben Willis, Kirsten Karey, Molly Jones, David Shettler, Rafael Statin, Piotr Michalowski, Skeeter Shelton, Alex Harding, Andrew Bishop, Tim Haldeman and many others.
