Presented in partnership with Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival.

Sphinx Apprentice Ensemble, Ivalas Quartet, performs Janáček’s “Kreutzer Sonata,” the composer’s first of two string quartets. Then, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Associate Concertmaster and violinist, Kimberly Kaloyanides Kennedy, is joined by Festival Artistic Director and cellist, Paul Watkins, for a performance of Kodály’ Duo for Violin and Cello. Closing the performance is Emerson String Quartet violist, Lawrence Dutton, alongside the Ivalas Quartet for a performance of Mendelssohn’s String Quintet No. 2.
